
The Politecnico delle Arti di Bergamo is excited to announce the beginning of INTERSCAPE, its highly anticipated Summer School, part of the International Network of the Polytechnics of the Arts (INPA). From July 20 to July 27, Bergamo will host 60 talented students and 25 distinguished faculty from across Europe, becoming a vibrant hub for artistic and musical research.
As the lead institution for the INPA project, Politecnico delle Arti di Bergamo fosters an international, interdisciplinary, and research-driven network among multi-disciplinary higher artistic education institutions. This dynamic week will feature representatives from official project partners, including prominent Italian National Institutes such as Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze, Conservatorio di Musica di Firenze, ISIA Design di Firenze, Accademia Ligustica di Belle Arti di Genova, Accademia di Belle Arti di Ravenna, Conservatorio «Giuseppe Verdi» di Ravenna, Accademia di Belle Arti «Albertina» di Torino, and Conservatorio di Musica di Torino. They will be joined by students and faculty from international institutes like Universidad de Granada, Hochschule Luzern (HSLU DFK), TAI School of Arts in Madrid, Reina Sofia School of Music in Madrid, Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, and the Conservatoire National Supérieur and CRR di Parigi, highlighting INTERSCAPE’s truly international scope.
Students and the public will engage with a distinguished lineup of visiting professors and artists, including renowned composers José Manuel Lopez-Lopez, Fabian Panisello, Emilio Guim. Influential artists Brandon LaBelle and Stefano Romano will also be present, masterclass lecturers soprano Alda Caiello, tuba masterclass lecturer Gianmario Strappati, and piano masterclass lecturer Alfonso Alberti, as well as Umberto Pedraglio, Giorgio Colombo Taccani, Damiano Meacci, Roberto Neri.
The INTERSCAPE project delves into the compelling theme of landscape, exploring it through three engaging research areas:
INTERSCAPE emphasizes interdisciplinarity and dedicated research into landscape, connecting diverse artistic and scientific disciplines.
The Summer School will unfold across multiple venues like the Conservatorio, Accademia di Belle Arti, Accademia Carrara, Sala Boninelli at the Biblioteca Tiraboschi, and INK Club in Bergamo. The program includes lectures, masterclasses, panel discussions, workshops, and networking.
Research initiated this week will continue into autumn, culminating in the “TONO” Festival (February 2026), featuring exhibitions, performative events, and concerts.
